In another major reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government promoted 21 police officers, including six Inspector Generals (IG), five Deputy IGs (DIG) and 10 Superintendents of Police (SP).
C Sylendra Babu, IG, North Zone has been promoted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP),Coastal Security Group and Karan Singha, IG, Civil Supplies CID as ADGP, Armed Police, an official press release said.
Prateep V Philip, IG, Tamil Nadu Police Academy is ADGP,Crime, while RC Kudawla, IG, Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board has been promoted as ADGP, Welfare.
Vijayakumar, IG on deputation with Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai has been promoted as ADGP, while S Rajendran, IG, State Traffic Planning Cell has been made ADGP, State Traffic Planning Cell, a newly created post.
Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, DIG on deputation with CBI has been made IG, while G Venkataraman, DIG, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has been made IG and Joint Director.
Vinit Dev Wankhede, DIG Technical Services has been made IG, Technical Services, while Sanjay Mathur, DIG, Dindigul has been made Commissioner of Police, Madurai, the release said.
P Sakthivelu, DIG, Vellore has been made IG, Tamil Nadu Police Academy.
It said R Arumugam, IG, Technical Services has been transferred and made IG, Economic Offences Wing (II), while TP Sundaramoorthy, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore has been posted as IG, West Zone, Coimbatore.
AK Viswanathan, IG, Chief Vigilance Officer, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore, while P Kannappan, Commissioner of Police, Madurai has been posted as IG, North Zone, Chennai.
Sunil Kumar,IG, Modernisation has been posted as IG, Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, while R Dhinkaran, Avi Prakash, Vidya Kulkarni, A Arun, Kalpana Nayak, MT Ganeshmoorthy, C Chandrasekar, K Shanmugavel, J Mahesh and C Easwaramoorthy are the 10 SP's who have been promoted.
