9-Year-Old Robs Rs 4 Lakh Off Constable in Mathura

Mathura: A nine-year-old girl, suspected to be a member of so-called 'Baccha Gang' (gang of children), on Wednesday allegedly deceived a constable off Rs 4 lakh in Mathura's Kotwali area, police said.

"A girl of about nine years, standing near State Bank of India's Chauki Bagh Bahadur branch advised constable Vijai Pal Singh to clean some dirt on his pant. The girl, within fractions of seconds disappeared with the bag before the constable could see his pant after putting the bag there," according to an FIR filed by the constable.

The constable is posted at Agra and his family lives in Aurangabad village under Sadar Bazar police station.

He had withdrawn Rs 4.02 lakh from the bank as his daughter was to be married in about a fortnight, police said. "Efforts are on to nab the mischief doer," SP (City) Shailesh Pandey said.
