For days, Twitter and Facebook newsfeeds have been flooded with posts that say #MeToo. The hashtag has been trending world over ever since women (and men), who've faced sexual harassment or assault, tweeted #MeToo to show the extent of the abuse. Now, in response to the viral hashtag, Kolkata Police has shared a post on Facebook saying they are 'perturbed' by the number of women who've shared their stories of abuse and that they 'hear every single one of you'.

"We at Kolkata Police have been perturbed by the number of women who have shared #metoo. And we would also like to reiterate our pledge and commitment by saying that we hear every single one of you," says the post, shared some 17 hours before writing this.

In the post, Kolkata Police requests people to walk into their police stations and report sexual harassment without being afraid. They, in turn, promise to listen to the complaints 'with patience and kindness'.

"We also feel it important to talk to boys about the need to stop sexual harassment, and for this, we have recently launched a project, Dear Boys, in schools," says the post.
