This is the biggest pothole in Mumbai
Mumbai: In a week of exceptionally heavy rain for Mumbai, meet its biggest pothole.

Measuring 4 metres by 5metres, or the size of a small car, the pothole is located on an internal road in Thakur village in Mumbai's western suburb of Kandivali.

Every year, dealing with these potholes challenges the municipal corporation. In recent years, at least two pregnant women went into labour when the autos they were traveling in hit these large craters.

Last year, the municipal corporation introduced an app that allows users to upload photos of potholes to the www.voiceofcitizen.com on BMC's website. The corporation promised that it would then dispatch teams to fill those potholes.

The city has already received 300 mm of rain in the first 10 days of June- 65 per cent more than the average. If it continues to rain like this, drivers will have to fend for themselves on the 'fragile' roads of Mumbai.
