Brands That Have Been Giving Back To The Society
1. Upasana
Upasana is a clothing company located in Auroville, Tamil Nadu, which creates conscious sustainable fashion. They use organic cotton to produce apparel and in the wake of many problems, they take up projects to help people. They previously started a project by the name Tsunamika , which was a tsunami related project which helped fisherwomen attain livelihood.
2. No Nasties
It is an organic, fair trade and vegan brand that has been making only 100% cotton clothes since 2011. Under its 'buy one get one tree' program, they plant a tree for every purchased product to offset some of the carbon footprint. These are planted in the rural areas of Odisha.
They also use zero plastic packing for their products.
3. Ethicus
This organic brand grows their own organic cotton. They believe in the concept of inclusive growth, as all the products carry tags with the picture of the weaver on it. Along with it, the product also carries the name and the number of days it took them to weave the product.
4. Paromita Banerjee
This brand started in the year 2009 and works with weaver clusters across India. They believe in the concept of "BORO", which means too good to waste. They upcycle fabrics and put them to use.
