Motherhood brings with it a sense of joy. However, it is a journey comes with the highest highs and lowest lows. Serena Williams might not be a first-time mother but with the birth of her second daughter Adira River, the tennis legend is candid about her still-lingering mama-related problems. The first is accepting one's body transformations post-pregnancy. “Loving yourself is essential," she said in a recent post. "I find that I have to remind myself of that self-love through all the different stages in my life.” She recently dropped a picture in a white bikini, carrying her little one in her arms. The mother-daughter duo were on a cruise, surrounded by glistening blue waters. The tennis legend admitted that although her body was not “picture perfect” at the moment, she still loved the way she looked even when she smelt like milk.
“I love getting to know a new version of my body. It is a change, but it's a change that has been well worth it,” added the Grand Slam winner. Encouraging mothers dealing with body image issues and struggling to shower themselves with the same amount of love they give to their kids, Serena Williams offered just one advice. “Start this week, knowing that you are loved, and that starts with you.” Subtly, she hinted that hitting the gym can enable women to get back in shape.
Earlier, Serena Williams embarked on a coastal trip with her elder daughter Olympia. They indulged in some fun surrounded by white sandy beaches and clear blue skies, interspersed with puffy white clouds. The waves crashed against the shore at a distance. Serena was unafraid to show her curves in a strappy black monokini. Olympia made the most of her time in a pink-printed swimsuit.
In another heartwarming video, Serena Williams taught Olympia how to lift her baby sister Adira carefully from the ground and put her down gently. “We all work out in this family,” she revealed. Olympia followed her mother's advice and executed the duties of a big sister.
Serena Williams is not just a GOAT on the court, she is fast becoming the GMOAT (Greatest Mother Of All Time) in her house, for sure, but also beyond.
