Anyone who grew up reading Roald Dahl's Charlie And The Chocolate Factory or watching Gene Wilder play the eccentric chocolatier in the 1971 film will know the whimsical story of a young boy and the magical kingdom of a chocolate factory and its wonders within. Over time, this has also led to several heated debates about who portrayed Willy Wonka best. Was it the untouched classic genius of Gene or Johnny Depp in the more fantastical 2005 version filled with cinematic madness and music? Set to throw another hat in the ring is 25-year-old Timothee Chalamet. The Gen Z Hollywood superstar has been at the helm of critically acclaimed films like Beautiful Boy and Call Me By Your Name. Adding to his repertoire will be his role as a young Willy Wonka.

While talks of casting and shooting have gone on for months now, we've gotten a glimpse at what Timothee will bring to the table in the prequel film. In an Instagram photo shared by the Hollywood actress, he is seen staring intensely in the distance while the snow falls around him. What we can't take our eyes off is his incredibly true to source Wonka costume. Wearing a rich purple overcoat with a printed scarf bundled around his neck, his curls are covered by his brown top hat.
While Timothee's face is only partially visible, we do catch a glimpse of defined eyes with kohl seemingly lining them on the lower lashline. And since it's Timothee we're talking about here, his chiselled cheekbones and jawline definitely get a shout out and we doubt they needed much bronzer to really pop. Now here's a Wonka we can't wait to see!
