Here's How To Get a Good Night's Sleep
Oh, Sleep! Thou art love, thou art BAE

It is probably the most essential part of our days. It is the best part of our days for sure. That should be enough for you to guess that I am talking about sleeping. Oh, Sleep! Thou art love, thou art BAE in the in the true essence of the acronym. But are we really getting enough sleep at all these days?

From all over I can hear voices scream a vehement "No!"

And is the sleep we are getting good enough? Hmm, questionable.

So how about we make our sleeping routines more conducive to a peaceful night's worth of sleep. No, I am not talking about things like "sleep on time" or "don't do more than 8.25 hours' worth of sleep". I am talking some steps you can take to assure to wake up feeling fresh after a good sleep.

1. Wind down. A little before your actual sleep time, start winding down your day, and body rhythm. You do that by turning the lights down (soft lighting works wonders), postponing all your heavy thinking to the next day, setting up your bed.

2. Partake in some nocturnal rituals. Play some soft music. Read a book (not on a tab or phone, an actual book). Take a warm bath to loosen your body up after the day's toil. Stretch your body, nothing hard core. Meditate. Have green tea. Or a glass of warm sugared milk.

3. Avoid drinking coffee or even alcohol before bed time. There is the whole idea of a nightcap, but it only messes up the sleep cycle once you have passed out. Also avoid drinking too much water at night. We all know how hateful those middle of the night pee trips can are.

4. Don't eat and sleep right after, because you know that not only will it trouble you during sleep but also give you heartburn. Ugh.

5. If you stress and overthink at night, right before you sleep, you will find it hard to fall asleep. So keep aside a time slot for all the worrying before you start winding down to sleep.

6. Instead of focusing on sleeping, focus on relaxing. Relax your body starting at the toes and work your way up to the head. Take deep breaths. Visual positive things.

7. Don't underestimate the powers of room fragrances. A soothing room freshener, a calm pillow mist...it can do wonders for your sleep.

8. Also do not undermine how important it is to have a clean and comfortable bed. Make sure you have enough room to stretch, move, and spread. Make sure you use clean and soft sheets, comforter that is not too thin or warm (and we really recommend cotton, not synthetic stuff).

9. Do not get into strenuous activity like dancing, running, et al before sleep time. What these things do is wake your brain up even more.

10. Keep that phone away...very, very far away. When you are in the middle of winding down, start distancing yourself from your phone for the day. No, those messages can wait. Yes, I know this one is hard.

11. Lastly, make sure when you are about to sleep, the room is dark. Use a sleep-mask if need be. Cover the windows up; as much natural light you need during the day, you need darkness when you sleep.

We wish you a goodnight here on. Always.
