Whether it was with kohl-rimmed eyes, a wash of colour on the lids, lines of glitter or simply experimentation with colour, all eyes were on the eyes which was an excellent way to continue makeup playtime while the face mask stayed safely on.

A few more skincare products found their way onto vanity tables. No, it wasn't eyeshadow palettes or lip glosses. Hygiene was top priority and sanitisation a 2020 buzzword, so beauty brands launched their own lines of sanitising sprays, disinfecting wipes and more to keep the skin clean and disinfected. With complete lockdowns lasting for months on end, many emerged from the Coronavirus quarantine with scraggly ends and ratty roots. This led to turning their hair into a DIY makeover project.
