Bridal skin care regime to look your best on D-day

Expert Tips Every Bride-To-Be Should Follow For Glowing Skin
Pre-bridal skincare tips

For every bride, her wedding day is of course a huge deal. After all, when you know that you are going to be the centre of attention, you want to look your best. While the jewellery and bridal outfits can help add all the glam, a glowing skin can prove to be a bonus to elevate your entire look. Yes, of course there's makeup to add the spark, but there's nothing like natural glowing skin to make the whole affair a lot easier and hassle free. For that, it is very important to follow a proper skin care regime to have radiant skin.

Pre bridal skin care regime

Beauty expert Blossom Kochhar elaborates on the importance of a proper diet before D-day as it shows its effects on the skin. "A perfect diet is a must for a to-be bride to get glowing skin. Ideally, you should start working on your diet two to three months prior to your wedding. It is recommended to include lots of fruits and green vegetables in your diet to keep your skin hydrated and glowing. Avoid spicy food, tea, coffee, cigarettes and fatty foods. Drink minimum two to four litres of water every day. It not only keeps your body fit and helps lose weight but also helps to keep your skin hydrated and acne free. Besides diet, a small tip is to keep your worries away as it aggravates oily skin."

Chiranjiv Chhabra, Director and Consultant dermatologist at Skin Alive clinics states, "Brides undergo a lot of stress worrying about their D-day look. In order to prevent headaches, restlessness and dark circles, they should drink plenty of water and have a minimum of seven to eight hours of sleep. Brides should also try having green vegetable juices like aloe vera, cucumber, spinach etc. They have antioxidant properties that help in bringing natural glow to the skin."

He lists down an easy skincare regime to follow:

In the mornings, use a good cleanser that is suited for your skin type.

At night, use a good makeup remover along with cleanser. Keeping makeup overnight clogs the pores and leads to breakouts.

Use a moisturiser daily and protect your skin from sun by using a good sunscreen.

Use a good exfoliant to exfoliate your skin at least thrice a week.

Facial oils for that skin glow

For oily skin: Mix 2 drops of tea tree oil, 1 drop lemon oil and 1 drop jojoba oil. Take a few drops of this mixture and gently massage onto your skin. Apply a hot towel as a compress on your face for a few minutes to aid penetration of the oil. Wipe clean.

For dry skin: It is important to layer your moisturisers and conditioners for this skin type to trap in the moisture and oil. Mix 3 drops of sandalwood oil, 1 drop of geranium oil, 1 tablespoon almond oil and 2 teaspoon castor oil. Take a few drops and apply on your face and don't forget to massage well. You can use a hot compress and apply a moisturiser to get soft and smooth skin.

Chiranjiv Chhabra also adds, "Go for professional skin treatments to treat various skin issues such as diamond polishing, beauty light oxygen therapy, vitamin C serum oxyjetting and oxy clear face therapy. Rather than opting for regular facial choose any of these in consultation with your dermatologist."
