It's here, one of the many moments we have been waiting for - Deepika Padukone has made her red carpet entry at Cannes Film Festival. And looks like after the cardinal red gown at Met Gala, one that was a tribute to her virtuous self, at Cannes she is clearly emulating an angel. We kid you not. Everything about the gown she is wearing is absolutely celestial - be it the work on the fabric, the colour, and the cape. Okay, okay - here it is.

What did we tell you? In this beautiful Zuhair Murad creation, which is a "sleeveless figure hugging gown with plunging neckline and fully beaded in white shimmering stones and leaves with matching cape", Deepika is walking the red carpet for L'Oreal. Her earrings are by Lorraine Schwartz and they only accentuate her divine look. And hello? Looks like the fans' plea came through - the hair is all soft curls and open. Woohoo!
Now in all honesty, this look (and the gown) is far more superior in all every way possible compared to what Deepika wore for Cannes last year. And although that was chic and classy, this one is simply breathtaking.

But turns out the internet is busy noticing what the dress is similar to and not what it is different from. Throwback to Radhika Apte in the Manish Malhotra creation.
That awkward moment.
But all in all, the fans seem happy and are appreciating the look. We definitely are. Because the person working that dress and the whole look is doing it with utmost style.

Holy sweet angel. Breath. Taking. Indeed.
The actress then went on to end her day in a floral Monique Lhuillier dress which is as charming as it is cute. Summer vibes are clearly being done right, eh?
If the Murad dress was bringing out the angel in Deepika, this one is bringing out a garden pixie. She looks ethereal and simply gracious.
This has been one pleasing day, Deepika's sartorial choices wise.
