The festive season has made its way into our lives and while many rituals are bound to change this year, you know what won't? Festival style. Whether you're celebrating on video calls or with close knit family, a gorgeous Diwali makeup look definitely isn't going out of style. Glowing skin is the centre point of a good festive makeup look but isn't always that easy to achieve. However expert beauty tips can help achieve that. NDTV Swirlster spoke to Amanda Bell, Global Director of Education and Artistry at Pixi for exactly that purpose. From sharing her glowing skincare tips for Diwali to the makeup mistakes you need to avoid at all costs and her celebrity makeup inspiration, Amanda shares her expert beauty advice.
NDTV Swirlster: Which are the wearable makeup trends for the festive season?
Amanda Bell: Lashes: Cocktail your mascara use 2 separate mascaras to get the perfect finish. Use a lengthening and thickening base mascara and finish with a top coat of a waterproof mascara. This will mean that you have smudge-proof lashes with a full and fluttery finish.
Eyes: Treat the eyes to the most incredible lustrous pigment that elevates even a simple look with a beautiful glittery texture that is the perfect embellishment.
Lips: Mixing 2 shades of lip colour to create an entirely bespoke shade! My favourite is a bespoke nude of a warm toffee brown blended with a delicate hint of rose or a statement red with a little berry tone which creates the perfect showstopper shade.
NDTV Swirlster: Which are essential skincare products for glowing skin?
Amanda Bell: True glowing skin comes from a combination of exfoliating and hydrating. Exfoliation ensures that the surface of the skin is in immaculate condition and hydration keeps moisture levels balanced perfectly. For gently exfoliating the skin and then providing the ultimate moisture boost, Glow Tonic and Hydrating Milky Mist can be used through the day.

NDTV Swirlster: Which are steps one shouldn't skip in their beauty routine?
Amanda Bell: Cleansing can be the most undervalued step in skincare and yet it is essential to the health of your skin. If you have been wearing sunscreen or make up, double cleanse. The first cleanser should be one that lifts pigment, ideally with oil to break down pigment. The second cleanser should be a treatment that gives the results to the skin that you need, keep it immaculate and leave it balanced.
NDTV Swirlster: What are your glowing makeup tips for Diwali?
Amanda Bell: For a delicate radiance, add 1 to 2 drops of oil to your regular foundation for a delicate lit from within glow. Try a glow enhancing mist as your finishing spray Use a primer with a luminescent pigment. After you have finished, add a little on top of your base on the high points of the face for a beautiful radiance. Even when using matte powders, use a creamy shade stick as a primer on the lid that will also give a beautiful base to all shadows. Instead of reaching for a standard black liner, try an eye liner with a beautiful molten finish.
NDTV Swirlster: What are the makeup mistakes to avoid for the festive season?
Amanda Bell: These are makeup mistakes to completely avoid making.
1) Using a powder that gives flashback, which is an ashen hue to the skin
2) Not prepping the skin well enough before makeup
3) Ensure that you do the make up in the light you will be seen so that you can make sure that your makeup looks fantastic all through the day
NDTV Swirlster: Which are the best celebrities we need to turn to for Diwali makeup inspiration?
Amanda Bell: These are who I'd recommend
1) Priyanka Chopra's red carpet looks

4) Amy Jackson for her flawless base and love of a textured glow
