5 Intimate Activities That Bring Couples Closer

Sex isn't the only thing that strengthens a relationship.

Couple bonding.

Whether you've just started dating someone or recently gotten married - there is always the need to do things with your partner that'll help you connect with them better. Now, friends will just nudge you and tell you to have sex - but there are actually some way simpler intimate activities that can make you both grow closer. Consider it an ice-breaker or just a fun date, but do try them before you knock them off, even if they sound way too basic to work.

1. Join A Dance Class Together

Learning a new dance form like Salsa or Tango can be an extremely intimate activity for a couple. You slowly get comfortable with each other's bodies, the way it moves and even the closeness you experience while practicing. Even if the classes are just once or twice a week, it'll be worth the effort for sure.

2. Plan A Bonfire Picnic

I would ask you to find a beautiful park to have a picnic in, but if you live in a city like mine, that won't be easy. So just find a local park or, even better, plan it in your very own backyard. Spread out a sheet, find some fairy lights for decor and a romantic playlist on your phone. Have dinner like this, at least once a week. Light up a small bonfire together when it gets cold and talk about your past and future lives.

3. Write Love Letters

Too old fashioned? Good. Our social media centric lives need a little bit of old-time charm. Find some fancy paper, a pen that works and get writing. You can start small to get used to doing this - we don't expect you to produce sonnets suddenly. Write 3-4 lines of sweet nothings and pass it to him in person the first time around. Let things progress this way. These will make for the fondest of memories for your relationship.

4. Cuddle Up For Movie Time

People seem to think you don't get a lot of interaction done when you plan a movie date. That's only true if you're watching the first day, first show in the theatre. Skip that - find a movie on Netflix that you both haven't seen yet and plan to watch that at home on the couch with Act II popcorn and dimmed lights. You'll be free to talk during the movie, cuddle up and even pause if things get a bit further than that. Best way to catch up with your partner after a long week.

5. Take Time Out For Trips

We don't mean trips you need to get leave for. Just a weekend or day trip would do. But get out of the city, for sure. Every couple needs to, once in awhile. It's not just the long drive that gives you a great opportunity to fill the car with interesting conversations, but you get to be alone - just the two of you - with each other. No families, no friends, no office for distraction. It'll feel like you've moved to a brand new world.
