So you've had a blast playing Holi but now you're back from the celebrations after taking no precautions and you've found your skin stained with gulal and hair filled with colour. It's a troubling situation that many of us find ourselves in every year yet, we always struggle with removing those dreaded colours from our hair and skin. Not this time. These 5 home remedies will remove stains from both your skin and hair with ease.

1. Wheat Flour And Lemon

In a shallow bowl, mix together five tablespoons of wheat flour with two tablespoons of lemon juice and water to form a thick paste. Mix well and apply it liberally across the affected area. Leave for 30 minutes and wash off with warm water. Thanks to lemon's natural bleaching agents, this pack will help reduce stains to a great extent.

2. Coconut

Combine five tablespoons of coconut milk with three tablespoons of coconut oil. Mix thoroughly and apply to the hair lengths, making sure to massage it gently while doing so. Let this coconut pack soak in the hair for an hour, then wash away with warm water and a clarifying shampoo. Not only will coconut oil help the colour slide off the hair, the milk will repair damage that may have occurred too.

3. Orange And Baking Soda

Mix two tablespoons of dried orange peel powder with one teaspoon of baking soda and two tablespoons of cold water. As soon as the water is added to the dry ingredients, mix well and massage well into the skin. Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash off the mask with cold water. As both orange peel and baking soda are excellent exfoliants, they help drive away colour that's embedded deeply.

4. Oatmeal, Lemon And Honey

To three tablespoons of oatmeal, add two tablespoons of lemon juice, two tablespoons of honey and water to make a paste. Massage the pack gently into the stained areas of skin while applying it, then leave it for 40 minutes. Wash it off with warm water and scrub in a circular motion while doing so. While honey reduces stains, honey and oatmeal stop skin irritation and dryness with ease.

5. Yogurt, Egg And Lemon

In a bowl, whip together three tablespoons of yogurt with one egg yolk and three tablespoons of lemon juice. When combined thoroughly, apply to the scalp and the hair lengths then leave for an hour. Wash the hair pack off with shampoo and warm water and you're sure to find that stains and dryness been reduced.
