3 Tips To Avoid Getting Into A Boring Rut In Your Relationship
It's important to keep the spark alive and the relationship exciting

Maintaining the same spark that you felt with your partner at the beginning of your relationship a few years down the line, can get difficult for many couples. You might not be bored of your partner and might still enjoy their company, but unless both of you make a conscious effort to keep things interesting, it's easy for the relationship to start feeling dull and boring. Getting into a rut and losing focus of all the fun that you have had and can have together is easy when you do the same thing day in and day out, without even attempting to stimulate one another both mentally and physically. It's great to have a mature and stable relationship, but it's important to also keep the spark alive and the relationship exciting.

Here are a few ways to avoid feeling like your relationship has grown stale and boring.

1. Verbalise your love

Over time, many people forget about all the mushy things they would say to one another at the beginning of the relationship. In the nascent stages of a relationship, people are often quite verbal about their loving feelings and bombard each other with sweet texts and loving words. You might have grown more comfortable now and are probably in a place where your feelings for one another have been affirmed by the other - but it's still nice to hear your partner say loving things to you. So don't forget to say "I love you" and don't shy away from expressing how you really feel.

2. Flirt with each other

Remember all those flirty text messages you would send to and receive from your partner when you just started dating? That's what kept things fresh and exciting then, and that's exactly what'll keep things going even now. No matter how long you've been together, it's always great to flirt. Compliment each other, kiss more often and more passionately, send sexy text messages. Do all the stuff that helped inject some fun and excitement into your relationship.

3. Don't lose the element of surprise

There are very few people in the world who don't like or appreciate surprises. Unless your partner is one of the few, make sure to surprise them every now and then. Plan a surprise weekend getaway, cook their favourite meal, arrive home with a small gift - anything that'll make them feel special and make them realise how much you think of them even when they're away.
