Jaipur:
A traffic policeman in Bhankrota area on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway was crushed to death by a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Police said the traffic constable, identified as Rohitas Kumar, was on duty at the Bhankrota traffic post. Allegedly the driver of the truck coming from Ajmer lost control and dashed towards the traffic post.
"The truck initially jumped the speed breaker and later rammed the traffic kiosk and hit Kumar. The collision was so nasty that the constable was crushed to death on spot," a police officer from the Bagru police station said.
The 35-year-old Kumar was rushed to the Sawai Man Singh Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police have nabbed the driver of the truck. "We have arrested the driver of the truck who was identified as Munshi Singh and have also seized the vehicle," an officer said.
A case was also been registered against the driver for the negligent and rash driving.
