Weather Today, Delhi-NCR Rain, Monsoon Live Updates: Delhi-NCR woke up to pleasant weather on Friday, with cloudy skies, cool winds and relatively lower humidity, offering relief after two days of intense rainfall.
However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast another spell of heavy rain across parts of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At the same time, rainfall activity is expected to ease in Mumbai and several regions of Maharashtra.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Delhi, warning of heavy rainfall during the day. According to the weather department, the intensity of rainfall over the national capital is likely to decrease from July 11 onwards.
In Maharashtra, rainfall activity is expected to weaken on Friday, with light showers likely across most parts of the state. However, the IMD has issued an orange alert for Pune and Satara, and a yellow alert remains in effect for Raigad, Kolhapur, Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli, advising residents to remain cautious.
The weather department has also issued red and orange alerts for several districts in Uttar Pradesh. A red alert, indicating the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall, has been sounded for Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Badaun, Sambhal and Jyotiba Phule Nagar. Meanwhile, orange alerts have been issued for Sitapur, Hardoi, Bulandshahr, Saharanpur, Kushinagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shahjahanpur and Hapur.
Meanwhile, the IMD announced that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of the north Arabian Sea, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. With this, the monsoon covered the entire country on July 9, just one day later than its normal arrival date of July 8, marking the completion of its seasonal advance across India.

Heavy downpour for the past few days triggered floods in three Tripura districts, forcing around 11,000 people to seek refuge in relief camps, an official said on Friday.
Congress Birajit Sinha alleged that the water resource department failed to repair the sluice gates in time, which led to flash floods in several low-lying areas of Unakoti, Dhalai and Khowai districts.
However, no loss of life has been reported till now.
A State Disaster Management Authority official said that waters of the swollen Manun river have started receding, following a let-up in rains.

Amid the incessant rainfall in parts of Uttarkashi, landslides and resultant debris near Nalupani and Nagoon have led to Gangotri National Highway getting blocked repeatedly, officials said on Friday.
According to information received from the District Disaster Control Room, several administration teams are present at the site to clear the road, but the rain and falling stones are hampering the process of removing the debris.
Officials said the road was cleared for a while, but more debris was tumbling down the hill due to the rain. They said the administration has been put on alert.
Due to the frequent road closures, travellers and locals are facing inconvenience.

Following relentless heavy rain, all government and private educational institutions and Anganwadis would remain shut in Himachal's Sirmaur and Solan districts on Friday, officials said.
"Continuous rainfall is leading to obstruction of rural roads, increased risk of landslides and general disruption of normal life, particularly in rural and hilly areas. Such inclement weather conditions are likely to endanger the life and safety of students commuting to and from schools across the districts," two separate orders issued by Sirmaur and Solan Deputy Commissioners (DCs) Priyanka Verma and Manmohan Sharma, respectively, said.
A closure of educational institutions was ordered in the Paonta subdivision of the district late on Thursday. However, SDMs of Nahan, Sangrah, Pacchad and Rajgarh subdivisions in the Sirmaur district have also issued separate orders early Friday morning.
The MeT department has issued a warning of extremely heavy to very heavy rainfall, which may potentially lead to incidents of landslides, flash floods, uprooting of trees and road blockages, posing a grave danger to life and public safety.
Precautionary measures are being taken in the public interest to avoid any untoward incident and to safeguard precious human lives, especially those of school children, officials said.

Authorities received 68 complaints of waterlogging during the day, while heavy rain disrupted traffic across several parts of the city. The spell also triggered a fresh political war of words between the ruling BJP and the opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Water Minister Parvesh Verma criticising the previous AAP government, claimed that despite the city receiving over 100 mm of rain, traffic moved smoothly at the Minto Bridge underpass, where even large buses had routinely been stranded during downpours earlier.
According to officials, the Public Works Department (PWD)received 40 complaints of waterlogging, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) 16 and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) 12.
The NDMC also received 26 complaints of power outages and reported five incidents of tree falls across its jurisdiction.

The post-rain scenery has transformed Shimla into a major attraction for visitors arriving from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and several other parts of the country. Despite the onset of the lean tourism season, tourist footfall remains significant, with visitors saying they feel safe while exploring the hill station.
Speaking with ANI, Paramjeet Singh, a tourist from Punjab, said the pleasant weather in Shimla is a welcome relief from the hot and humid conditions in the plains.
"We have come here from Punjab, where the weather is hot and humid. The climate here is beautiful and refreshing. The valleys and the atmosphere after the rain are extremely attractive. We are enjoying ourselves and would recommend everyone to visit Shimla. There is no fear here, and we feel completely safe. Some of the videos circulating on social media are old and do not reflect the present situation," he said.
