Tough to implement Right to Education: Minister

Bhopal: With the Right to Education Act coming into force from Thursday, India joined the league of the select few countries in the world where education is a fundamental right.

But just as the Prime Minister appealed to all states to join hands with the Centre in implementing the Right To Education, some states are already voicing their objections.

Madhya Pradesh has complained about lack of infrastructure being one of the many hurdles in the road to implementing education for all.

It's difficult to implement the Right to Education (RTE) for lack of infrastructure, says the state's Education Minister Archana Chitnis.

"Today, we do not have the infrastructure to implement RTE Act. Even the Indian government knows this. We cannot implement this Act right now," she said.
