Raabta is a love story between Sushant and Kriti's characters, who are separated by death and meet centuries later. Their story transcends over time. Jim Sarbh plays a negative role and is responsible for their separation. Rajkummar Rao features in a cameo role as a 324-year-old man while Deepika Padukone stars in a special song sequence.

In his review for NDTV, Saibal Chatterjee wrote, "Dinesh Vijan's Raabta is a painfully elongated saga that plays out across two lifetimes separated by several centuries. The characters are superficially etched. Given the lack of depth in his role, it is a marvel that Sushant Singh Rajput occasionally breathes life into the vacuum at the heart of the film. Jim Sarbh is out of his depth in the garb of a crazed lover. For Kriti Sanon, Raabta is a choppy, rudderless ride." He gave the film 2 stars out of 5.

Raabta released along with Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Haasan's Behen Hogi Teri.
