A 22-year-old techie living in a posh residential society in Pune was raped at home, allegedly by a man posing as a courier delivery partner. The accused, who clicked a selfie on the victim's phone and left a chilling 'I will come again' message, has now been arrested.

The incident occurred around 7.30 pm yesterday at a residential society in Pune's Kondhwa area. The man reached the survivor's home and posed as a courier delivery agent. The accused said he was delivering a bank-related document and asked for a pen. As soon as the woman turned her back, the accused entered the house, latched the door and allegedly raped her.

Police said the survivor does not recall what happened next. "The woman had lost her consciousness and regained it around 8.30 pm. She then informed her relatives, and police were alerted," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Rajkumar Shinde said.

Some reports have claimed that the accused sprayed something on the woman's face, after which she lost consciousness.

On regaining her senses, the woman found the accused had clicked a selfie on the victim's phone. He also left a message on her phone, warning her not to tell anyone about the crime as he had taken her pictures and would share them on social media. He also mentioned: "I will come again."

The survivor, who works in a private firm, was alone at home as her brother was out of town.

Police have registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections relating to rape, voyeurism and criminal intimidation.

Rajkumar Shinde, Deputy Police Commissioner, earlier said 10 teams, five from the crime branch and five zonal teams, were working on this case.
