Patna: He used Black Beauty as his code name in internet chats and has a Masters in Psychology - this is the profile of a 24-year-old named Hyder, who, according to investigators, was crucial in the planning and execution of Patna's first terror attack.

Six people were killed and 83 injured on Sunday, just before the BJP's choice for prime minister, Narendra Modi, addressed tens of thousands of supporters in the heart of the city.

Four days later, the National Investigating Agency or NIA which is handling the case, is unmasking the men who reportedly worked behind the scenes of the strike.

Five people have been arrested so far, all alleged members of the terror group Indian Mujahideen, which has not claimed responsibility for the bombings. Among those caught by the police while he was trying to run away from the train station where the first of  eight bombs exploded on Sunday is the alleged mastermind, Imtiaz Ansari.

He has reportedly disclosed crucial information about the matrix of six people, including him, that formed the Ranchi branch of the Mujahideen.

Investigators say that though Imtiaz was the main man on the ground, the Patna attack was designed by Tehseen Akhtar, believed to be in his 20s, who has allegedly been running the Indian Mujahideen since the reported founder, Yasin Bhatkal, was arrested in Bihar last month.

Investigators believe that Tehseen Akhtar was in touch online with Hyder Ali, 24, who used  the code name "black beauty" in their internet chats.

Investigators allege that Hyder, whose father lives in Ranchi,  has a Master's in Psychology and was among the men who planted a series of bombs in the pilgrimage town of Bodh Gaya in Bihar in July. Two people were injured in that attack.
