Srinagar: One militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
The encounter broke out at the village of Aglar, where militants hiding in a house opened fire on the security forces during search operations, a defence ministry spokesman said.
He said one militant, yet to be identified, has been killed in a retaliatory fire so far, adding that the encounter was still going on.
