In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl died after a speeding car rammed into her in the Manewada area of Nagpur.
The minor has been identified as Kisha Gurnule. According to officials, Kisha had stepped outside her house with a neighbour for a post-dinner walk. At that moment, a car arrived at high speed and struck the girl with great force.
The accident happened near Badrinath Society in Mahakali Nagar. The incident was captured on CCTV camera, showing the entire sequence of the collision involving the speeding car.
The video shows the child trying to cross the road, breaking free from the neighbour's hand. At that moment, a speeding black sedan hits and runs her over.
People immediately gathered at the spot and chased the car. The video ends at this point.
Kisha sustained severe injuries in the accident, as the car was being driven at a high speed. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
The accused driver has been identified as Gaurav Malviya, a resident of Manewada. Cops said he later surrendered to the police.
The girl's father had earlier filed a complaint. Based on it, the Hudkeshwar Police had a case against the accused driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.
An investigation has been launched to examine all possible angles that led to the accident.
