Patna: In what is one of the Congress's strongest reaction to being deserted by their ally in Bihar, senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee said that Lalu Yadav has hurt the Congress party.
In an exclusive interview to NDTV from his campaign in Northern districts of West Bengal, Pranab Mukherjee said that of all the allies who have left the Congress, the desertion by Laloo and Paswan came as the greatest shock. But he hopes that they will re-align with the Congress after the elections.
'We couldn't understand why Laloo would break alliance over 6 seats. Laloo has been with UPA from beginning; so the desertion was all the more surprising,' expressed Pranab Mukherjee.
