All passengers are safe and there has been no major damage to the aircraft, the official said.

Raipur:  A Kolkata-bound IndiGo flight, with over 150 passengers on board, today made an emergency landing at Chhattisgarh's Raipur airport shortly after take-off from here due to a bird-hit, an official said.

All passengers are safe and there has been no major damage to the aircraft, the official said.

The Raipur-Kolkata IndiGo flight took off at around 9.50 am but landed back after the aircraft suffered a bird-hit, an official at the Swami Vivekanand Airport in Raipur told PTI.

The bird hit forced the pilot to return the aircraft to the airport, where it made the emergency landing, he said.

The airline's engineers are inspecting the aircraft to assess the damage.

Almost all the passengers were accommodated for their destination in other flights, the official said.

On September 9, an IndiGo flight from Raipur to Hyderabad had made an emergency landing at the airport here after a similar incident.
