Gujarat BJP to conduct poll on black money

Ahmedabad:

Gujarat BJP will conduct a public opinion through ballot on April 12 and 13 about the issue of "black money stashed away in foreign banks."

"Our PM candidate Advaniji has raised the issue which we want to take to the public by seeking its opinion on the issue," said BJP state unit president Purushottam Rupala.

According to Rupala, this is a big issue because lakhs of crores of rupees have have been stashed away in foreign banks while poor in the country remain deprived of resources.

Giving details of the exercise, state BJP vice-president and in-charge of Lok Sabha polls in the state Kaushik Patel said that on April 12 and 13 polling booths will be created across the state and will ask people to give their opinion on the subject.

"In the polling booth, people will be given a proper ballot in which questions will be asked whether the black money should be brought back or not and should be used for poverty removal or not," he said.

"After putting a mark on 'yes/no,' ballot paper will be put in the box and counting will be done on April 14," he said. He added that results of the opinion poll will be announced on the same day of counting and retired judges and bureaucrats will be roped in to supervise the entire process.
