CWG: Court dismisses plea against Switzerland company
New Delhi: The High Court today dismissed a plea against Swiss Timing - a Switzerland-based company in an ongoing corruption case linked with the Commonwealth Games, held in the capital in 2010. The plea in the High Court sought a stay on lower court proceedings against Swiss Timing.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had last year filed an First Information Report (FIR) against Swiss Timing for allegedly colluding with former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief, Suresh Kalmadi and other senior officers to rig the contract in its favour.

The CBI, which had arrested Mr Kalmadi in the case, had said that the deal had caused a loss of more than 90 crores.

While Mr Kalmadi managed to get bail in January this year, Swiss Timing has told the Delhi High court that as the CBI did not follow proper procedure, the trial court should be prevented from taking any adverse action against it.
