Bodh Gaya blasts: Will consider CISF protection for religious places now, says Home Minister
Bodh Gaya: Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde who is in Bodh Gaya today at the site of the multiple blasts along with Congress President Sonia Gandhi, told the media that a thorough probe is on but "we don't want to arrest anyone in a hurry." He also said that the government will consider deploying Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for protection at religious places.

Following are the highlights of what he said:

  • Such blasts are alarming and a matter of grave concern for the country
  • We sent NSG, NIA teams to work with the local police
  • Yesterday Bihar government wrote to the Central government to hand over investigation to NIA which we agreed upon
  • 10 of 13 bombs went off
  • We have visited all the blast sites
  • We are investigating on the involvement of three-four people, cars in this incident
  • Delhi Police had given information in October
  • Police DIG had taken a review on July 3 and spoken to the local security force here
  • The moment the blasts occurred, we sent teams immediately
  • We sent the teams by air but due to thunderstorms and bad weather in between, the flight had to turn back and come back the following day
  • We will investigate this incident from all angles possible
  • We don't want to arrest anyone in a hurry
  • We want to go into details and arrest the main people responsible
  • We had asked for security at Shirdi Sai Baba temple, at Jama Masjid. We will discuss this in further detail
  • We have applied top two teams, NSG and NIA to investigate
