Anna to be hospitalised on Sunday for check-up; core committee meeting postponed
Ralegan Siddhi (Maharashtra): Doctors attending to activist Anna Hazare have said that the 74-year-old will be admitted to Pune hospital on Sunday morning for check-up.

"There is a toxic effect in the body so I want to take him to Pune for check-up. I pressurised Annaji so tomorrow at 7 am he would come," Dr Kantilal Sancheti said in Ralegan Siddhi, where Anna is recuperating.

His chest is congested, it is becoming difficult for him to breathe, the doctor added. By evening, Anna had left for Pune.

Meanwhile, the core committee meeting of Team Anna scheduled for January 2-3 has also been postponed following the ill-health of Mr Hazare, his aide said on Saturday.

"Anna's fever has come down, but his blood pressure is not normal and he is feeling weak. We were advised that he should not talk much and hence we have postponed the meeting," Mr Hazare's close associate Allaudin Sheikh said.

The fresh dates of the meeting will be announced later.

Team Anna was to meet at Hazare's native village Ralegan Siddhi to discuss the future strategy on Jan Lokpal and campaigning in the five poll-bound states.

"I had examined Anna last (Friday) night and found that his fever has come down. But he is still suffering from backache and is overall very weak to participate in the meeting and hence has been advised rest for a few days," Hazare's doctor DG Pote said.

"The meeting has been postponed only as a precautionary measure," he added.

Mr Hazare had on Wednesday suddenly called off his three-day fast for a strong Lokpal due to his poor health.

"He is not well and needs rest. When he will be fine, the meeting will take place," Team Member Kiran Bedi told reporters in New Delhi
