NDTV Poll of Polls 2023: The voting in the battle for five states ended today after Telangana voted on 119 seats. NDTV's Poll of Polls suggests a win for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh with a majority. Meanwhile, the Congress can turn the tide and likely get a majority in Telangana. The Poll of Exit Polls predicts a close context between the MNF and ZPM in Mizoram.
In Rajasthan, the voting took place on 199 out of 200 seats. While the Congress hopes to break the Rajasthan jinx and return to power again, the BJP's election campaign focused on an "anti-incumbency" wave in the state. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed confidence that he will form the government for the fifth time in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, in Mizoram, the Chief Minister, Zoramthanga has exuded confidence that there won't be a hung assembly in Mizoram and his Mizo National Front (MNF) will form government again.
Chhattisgarh is the one state from which the Congress has the highest hope in this round of elections. In Telangana, it's a fight between the ruling BRS, and the BJP and Congress. Prime Minister Modi extensively campaigned in the state to form a BJP government in the southern state.
Warning: The exit polls do not always get it right. They have been way off the mark in the past.
