Why do I get blood in my stools?
Question
I am a 35 years old man. I got my stools tested recently. The report reveals red blood cell (RBC) as 2-3/hpf and faecal occult blood was found to be positive. Are these conditions due to any infection or any other reason? I don't have any stomach pain but get acidity. The ultrasound of general abdomen showed fatty liver. Please advise.

These tests indicate that you have blood in your stools. There are several causes for this, from piles, infection to cancer. The best approach is to get a colonoscopy so that the exact cause can be determined.
