Can I get Lasik surgery done?
Question
I am a 21 years old student having eye power -10.75 in the left eye and -7.75 in the right eye. My power is constant for the last two years. I also have mild haemophilia (a genetic disorder with factor VIII deficiency). Can I get LASIK done? What are the complications and risk involved with surgery?

- Haemophilia is not a contraindication to getting a Lasik done.
- As you have a high power, suitability of a procedure will have to be assessed by conducting a pachymetry for corneal thickness to confirm if Lasik will be safe for the eyes.
- Generally, if all pre-operative assessments have been properly conducted and the patient screened for possible risks, the Lasik procedure is very safe.
