That Twinkle Khanna is an avid bibliophile is no secret. In addition to being a voracious reader, Twinkle is also a best-selling author of several novels. But seldom do we get to see the multi-hyphenate at work. Now, we can see her work her magic, thanks to Twinkle's daughter Nitara Kumar who turned photographer for her mom. In a series of pictures that have been stitched into a montage video and shared on Twinkle's Instagram handle, the author is sitting on a bed of grass with a book and pencil in hand. Dressed in a pair of jeans, a T-shirt and a sweater, Twinkle looks at ease as she immerses herself in work.
Sharing the post, Twinkle Khanna said, “Am I managing to get some work done despite my pesky nine-year-old photographer's intrusions? Hmm… Let's just say I am trying.”
Sharing anecdotes about her journey as a writer, Twinkle Khanna said, “I started writing first drafts by hand when I fractured my left elbow in the middle of my writing course at Oxford and couldn't type fast enough with one hand. A disaster, that like many others, eventually turned out to be a pivotal point of growth. Or that's how I have always chosen to look at setbacks.”
Speaking about her stationery, which she seems to love, Twinkle Khanna added, “Another bonus, my notebook and mechanical pencil fit in my small bag, never run out of battery and even survive coffee spills. Some things are just better the old-fashioned way. What do you do the old-fashioned way?”

While this time around, Nitara Kumar was behind the camera, a few days ago on the occasion of Father's Day, Twinkle Khanna shared a video in which the little one is seen with her dad, Akshay Kumar. In the video, the two are plucking fruits in their backyard. Sharing the videos, Twinkle said, “The two of them wait for the Safed Jamun tree in our compound to bear fruit. It is an annual ritual where they stalk the tree for days and pick the right time. They have their own games, where they tumble, leap and somersault across the garden as I watch from the sidelines. Mothers can do it all, but some things are just easier left to their dads.”
Twinkle Khanna ended the note by saying, “Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there and especially to my Mr K.”
Akshay Kumar replied to the post with a heart emoji.
In another image that Twinkle Khanna shared, Nitara is seen perched in her father's arms. What makes the picture even more special is their family dog leaning in for a group hug.
Sharing the image, Twinkle said, “Time for a group hug? Few things beat a dog with his wagging tail and the joy with which he leaps on you when you return home. Don't you wish the humans we lived with greeted us with the same enthusiasm as well?”
Twinkle Khanna has been married to Akshay Kumar since 2001. The couple has two children – Aarav and Nitara.
