- Toxic's advance booking crossed Rs 24.27 crore across India before release

- Hindi 2D version earned Rs 11.06 crore, Kannada 2D close at Rs 10.99 crore
Yash's much-awaited film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is heading towards its theatrical release with strong advance booking numbers. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is set to arrive in cinemas on August 26 and has been creating buzz with its mix of action, crime and period drama.
Toxic Advance Booking Crosses Rs 24 Crore
As per the advance booking figures shared by industry tracker Sacnilk, Toxic has recorded an all-India gross of Rs 24.27 crore. The film has sold 6,39,966 tickets across 14,104 shows so far.
Interestingly, the Kannada and Hindi markets are almost neck-and-neck when it comes to the gross.
The Hindi 2D version has brought in Rs 11.06 crore, making it the biggest contributor in the table. The Kannada 2D version follows with Rs 10.99 crore.
The premium formats are also adding to the total. Hindi IMAX 2D has recorded Rs 28.57 lakh, while Hindi 4DX has collected Rs 22.17 lakh. On the Kannada side, IMAX 2D has contributed Rs 71.28 lakh, while 4DX has added Rs 21.45 lakh.
Among the other languages, the Tamil 2D version has registered Rs 44,85 lakh, followed by Malayalam 2D at Rs 19.11 lakh and Telugu 2D at Rs 13.38 lakh. Hindi Dolby Cine has added Rs 64,700.
The tracker also notes that the gross with block seats stands at Rs 32.85 crore.
Toxic stars Yash in the lead, with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth also playing key roles.
The official plot summary of the film reads, "A gangster navigates the complexities of loyalty, morality, and the struggle for personal redemption in a post-independence Goa where violence and jealousy reign. With its atmospheric world, brutal action sequences, and morally conflicted characters, the film explores the price one must pay for love and for finding redemption amidst the darkness."
