No one can escape the lure of Instagram trends and Reels, including the beautiful Sonali Bendre. The actress, who is known for her stunning looks and charming performances, recently tried her hands at the "Jiggle Jiggle" trend. And, she was not alone. Sonali Bendre was joined by her The Broken News co-stars, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat. In the video, the three actors are seen facing the camera. As soon as the music begins, they begin to perform the viral dance routine. But a few seconds into the performance, Sonali Bendre slips up, bursts out laughing and looks towards Jaideep Ahlawat, even as Shriya Pilgaonkar continues to dance.
Soon enough, Jaideep Ahlawat also gives up and walks out of the frame unable to contain his laughter. It is only then that Shriya Pilgaonkar, still dancing, notices that something is amiss. Sharing the video, Sonali Bendre wrote, “Today's breaking news, we clearly can't wiggle. Fail with the co-stars Shriya Pilgaonkar, Jaideep Ahlawat.”
Sharing pictures with her co-stars Jaideep and Shriya from a promotional event of the series, Sonali Bendre wrote, “Here to make the headlines. Team The Broken News!”
With The Broken News, Sonali Bendre will be making her OTT debut. Sharing the teaser of the series, the actress wrote, “I'm still processing that this is actually happening. Finally…the ‘news' is out. It feels so good to be back on set, back to the creative process, interacting with my co-actors and director… bringing life to a character. I'm so happy to make my OTT debut with Zee5, we've done so much together and it feels like family.”
Sharing her excitement about the project, Sonali Bendre added, “I loved the concept of this show from the get-go and am so proud of how it's turned out…Can't wait for you all to see it.” The series features Sonali Bendre as journalist Amina Qureshi of Awaaz Bharati. Jaideep Ahlawat will play Dipankar Sanayal, a journalist associated with the channel Josh 24/7 and Shriya Pilgaonkar as Radha Bhargava of Awaaz Bharati.
Following this, Sonali Bendre also shared an individual poster of hers from the series and offered a glimpse of who her character Amina Qureshi is: “Let me introduce you to Amina Qureshi, the Editor-in-chief, for Awaaz Bharti. For her, fact always wins over fiction... no matter what the cost.”
The Broken News is an adaptation of the popular 2018 British series Press. The series has been directed by Vinay Waikul, who has previously created the Netflix crime thriller Aranyak.
