Mumbai: Actor Shah Rukh Khan said that he does not want to direct a film as he is not confident of "calling the shots."

When Shah Rukh was asked if he ever plans to direct a film, he told IANS: "I find it to be a very lonely job. I think, if I have to direct, I need to gain my confidence in the next five years. As of now, I just feel very scared to direct. I don't know when to say, 'Okay, cut'."

The 50-year-old actor believes that he needs to give himself a few years to be confident of being able to go behind the camera.

"I have plans that in the next two to three years, I should go and take some course for three months to see how exciting it would be to tell a story. I don't know if I can call the shots," added Shah Rukh.

Shah Rukh is currently busy promoting his new film Fan, and he said that director Maneesh Sharma has lived with the script for 10 years.

"Maneesh had this idea seven years ago. But Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) felt that Maneesh is not ready to do a film with me because there is a responsibility to work with a star. Adi knows me well. That I am very sensitive and I cannot just be called to work. I like to be treated well, and be nice to. Maybe he was too young to be in that space," said Shah Rukh.

Fan is releasing on April 15.(Also Read: Guess Who Suggested the Idea of Fan to Shah Rukh Khan)
