  • Crown Communications unit in the Queen of Hills Mussoorie, working on war footing are shooting extensively and exclusively ‘on location’ for the past 6 weeks adapting resident author Ruskin Bond's stories into a television series. Actor Ayub Khan a familiar face in daily operas, couldn’t resist being an integral part of the series as his mother Begum Para had acted in the first series of Ek Tha Rusty aired in the early 1990’s.
  • “My mother was invited here to shoot for Ek tha Rusty and now I have been invited to play a part in this serial so I find it an honour. I haven’t read much of Bond, but I found his it very fascinating as I saw Saat Khoon Maaf and that inspired me to read more of Ruskin Bond. I have met him and he is a very charming man and its an honour being part of this unit,” Ayub said.
  • The sequel which runs into 26 episodes is based on Bond’s 2 novellas and 2 short stories. For the director, Shubhadhadarshini Singh, Ruskin Bond’s simple writing and his invaluable tips on treatment of his stories added more charm to the shooting of the series.
  • “I got a lot of help from him, whenever I made a set and showed it to Mr. Bond would say yes yes this is how it would look like. He even helped me choose the music and dress,” the director stated.
