R Madhavan is one proud dad. The actor has shared that his son Vedaant has won five gold medals for India in swimming at a championship in Malaysia. On the happy occasion, Madhavan shared the development with his fans on social media and added several images of Vedaant at the championship as well as images of the medals. In the caption, he wrote, “With God's grace and all your good wishes Vedaant gets 5 golds for India ( 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 1500m) with 2 PBs at the Malaysian invitational age group championships, 2023 held this weekend in Kuala Lumpur. Elated and very grateful.”
In response, superstar Suriya said, “This is beautiful [heart emoji]. Hearty congratulations to Vedaant, Sarita, and you and the team.” Director Aanand L Rai said, “Congrats. So so proud of Vedaant.”
Actor Darshan Kumaar said, “Heartiest congratulations bhai ji.” Shilpa Shirodkar wrote, “A proud moment for all of us Maddy. Many many congratulations to Vedaant, Sarita, and you.” Lara Dutta said, “Awesome! Congratulations.” Lakshmi Manchu said, “Not just you but super proud moment for us all. Congrats.” Rajesh Khattar wrote, “Wow. Huge congrats to Vedaant. He not only makes his parents proud but the entire country. Wishing him many more to come. God Bless.”
Previously, Vedaant achieved a significant accomplishment at the Khelo India 2023 tournament. Madhavan's son participated in the tournament representing team Maharashtra and won five gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 150m events, as well as two silver medals in the 400m and 800m events.
Sharing the news in February, Madhavan wrote, “Congratulations team Maharashtra for the two trophies. One for the boys team Maharashtra in swimming and 2nd the overall Championship Trophy for Maharashtra in the entire Khelo games. Blown by and very grateful and humbled by the performances and achievements of Apeksha Fernandes( 6 golds, 1 silver, PB, and records) and Vedaant Madhavan (5 golds and 2 silver). Thank you, Aqua Nation and Pradeep sir for the unwavering efforts and Govt of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan Ji and Anurag Thakur Ji. So happy and Proud.”
Last year, we got a sneak peek into the close bond between father and son when Madhavan shared a birthday note for Vedaant. “Happy 17th my boy. A big year ahead for both of us. Praying that this year is all that you want and more,” he wrote.
