The new
Bangistan song, titled
Maula, has a lesson that's worth learning well. Sung by Rituraj Mohanty and Ram Sampath,
Maula explores the divide created by religion and the attempt to break free of the shackles that stop members of different faiths from reaching out to one another.
In the video of the song,
Bangistan actors Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat walk amidst young children lamenting the hateful glares that are exchanged and their determination to fight each other in the name of religion.
In the end, however, the song paints a happy picture of resolution and rejoicing.
In
Bangistan, Riteish and Pulkit play terrorists from opposite ends of the religious spectrum who have been entrusted with the same mission by their respective terrorist organizations - to disrupt a
vishwa dharmik conference at which their religious leaders have been, shockingly, spotted embracing.
The film directed by Karan Anshuman is slated to release on July 31.
