Mumbai: Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has proved his mettle in films such as Paan Singh Tomar and Gangs of Wasseypur, said that small budget films are not promoted on a huge scale in India.

When asked if he feels that small budget films are not promoted the way high budget films are done, he told IANS, "I agree. Small (budget) films are not promoted on huge scale in India. My film Miss Lovely was appreciated worldwide and made money outside India too but it didn't run here."

"It was a film made in Rs 1.5 crore and there were hardly any promotions. I want small films to be promoted, so that people get to know about the film. People knew that the film (Miss Lovely) has achieved a lot but they didn't know that it has been released, so that affects your film," he added.

The actor's latest film Badlapur released on February 20. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film also features Varun Dhawan, Yami Gautam, Huma Qureshi among others.
