Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was the second longest running TV show (after CID) until Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai broke its record earlier this year. Kyunki... Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was one of Ekta Kapoor's first successful K-soaps, which also included shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kkusum and Kutumb among others.

After Kyunki... Saas bhi kabhi Bahu Thi, Smriti Irani featured in shows like Virrudh and Teen Bahuraaniyaan none of which could match the success of Ekta's show. Smriti Irani is currently the Minister of Textiles.
