The sixth episode of Koffee with Karan 7 featuring sibling duo - Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor - has got us all laughing. From talking about their relationships to revealing details about their school, there were quite a few confessions on the Koffee couch. But looks like Arjun Kapoor lied about one thing, and was eventually caught by the filmmaker. During the ever-amazing rapid-fire round, Karan Johar asked Arjun Kapoor how has he saved his girlfriend, actress Malaika Arora's number on his phone. To which, the actor replied, “I really like her name so it is saved as her name. I really love the way her name sounds and looks. I have always liked Malaika.” We were totally convinced by the actor's reply. Well, we must tell you to hold on for a bit longer.
Cut straight to the glam zone's final segment where the guests have to call fellow celebrities and say, “Hey Karan, it's me”. Hope you were able to guess it, now. Yes, Arjun Kapoor called Malaika Arora to help him win extra points. And, it was at this moment when KJo exposed Arjun Kapoor. He said, “By the way, Arjun Kapoor just lied to us about what he has fed her name in as. I don't want to say what it is. It's certainly not Malaika.”
We think it is safe to say that Arjun Kapoor was quite candid about his relationship with Malaika Arora. Karan Johar even asked him why he took so long to reveal his relationship with Malaika Arora to the public. The actor said, "I think I have lived a life being on the other side of the spectrum. I grew up in a disjointed family, and it was not easy to see what was going on, and still had to accept everything. I can't just jump on her (Malaika). The first reaction could be “What do you mean?” If you ease people in, they will understand."
He added, "I will always think about everyone first. It is my choice to be with her, but I cannot expect everyone to understand. It has to be allowed to grow. I cannot expect everyone to understand easily. Darja dena padta hai, and I had to ease everyone into it including the public eye. It's not that we didn't talk about it as a couple. But there are baby steps. There is a basic understanding that she has had a life, she has a child, and I'm coming from a past that is aware of that. The moral compass of the country you cannot dictate.”
