The story of an orphan (Pinto) growing up in thesimmering Israeli-Palestinian border, the film courtedcontroversy from the beginning and the recent murder of it'sstar Juliano Mer-Khamis in broad daylight, again saw it grabheadlines.

A number of Jewish groups have asked for a ban on thefilm, including asking the UN not to show it at a plannedscreening.

In a new advertisement for the film in the Los AngelesTimes, Depp and Bardem have lent their support to the film."Julian Schnabel's film is a unique and courageousglimpse into one woman's painful journey. It is an epic poemteetering on the edge of a dagger. See it and decide foryourself," said Depp.

He was seconded by Oscar winning actor Bardem who isquoted as saying on the poster, "The Beauty of JulianSchnabel, he creates art that inspires discussion for Worldleaders and also touches the rest of us mere mortals on a veryhuman and primitive level."

Meanwhile the 26-year-old Slumdog Millionaireactress is winning rave reviews for her performance in thefilm.
