Hollywood actor Chris Pratt,
best known for his role in Jurassic World and the
Guardians Of The Galaxy films, announced that he is no longer with his actress wife Anna Faris, whose biodata has films like the
Scary Movie series,
My Super Ex-Girlfriend and
Just Friends. In their joint statement posted on their social media accounts, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris said that they tried their best to save their marriage of eight years and they were "disappointed" to announce their separation. Chris and Anna are parents to 4-year-old Jack, whose fifth birthday is in a few days. "Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another," they said in a statement.
Chris Pratt met Anna Faris in 2007 while filming
Take Me Home Tonight, which released in 2011. Chris and Anna got married in Bali in 2009 and their son Jack was born on August 6, 2012. Before Chris Pratt, Anna Faris was married to Ben Indra for four years from 2004 to 2008. This was Chris' first marriage.
Chris Pratt started his Hollywood journey with 2003 short film
Cursed Part 3 and went on to star in films like
Bride Wars,
Jennifer's Body,
Zero Dark Thirty and
Delivery man before he signed up for the part of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in Marvel's
Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Guardians Of The Galaxy was Chris' multi film deal with the studio and their latest collaboration as
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, more than $770 million worldwide, reports AFP. He will reprise the role of Star-Lord in upcoming
Avengers: Infinity Wars and the third
Guardians film.
Anna Faris took up acting when she was all of nine. She started theatre at age nine in Arthur Miller's play
Danger: Memory! and later starred in theatrical adaptation of
To Kill a Mockingbird, She played a major role in independent film
Lovers Lane while her breakthrough role was in 2000 film
Scary Movie and later in its three sequels. Her other popular projects are
Mama's Boy (2007),
The House Bunny (2008), the
Alvin and the Chipmunks films (she voices Jeanette Miller) and
The Dictator.
Everwood and
Parks and Recreation made Chris Pratt a popular face on the small screen too while Anna Faris' top television show is
Mom. She also played the role of Erica in popular sitcom
F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
