New Delhi: Actress Bhumi Pednekar, who walked the ramp of ongoing India International Jewellery Week or IIJW on Sunday, says she has always been a fashionable person, reports news agency IANS. The 28-year-old actress also told IANS that the audience assumes she is not into making style statements because of the characters she has portrayed on screen like Sandhya Verma in Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Jaya Sharma in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. "The kind of films I do, people assume that I am not a fashionable person but I am an urban girl and I have always been fashionable," IANS quoted Bhumi Pednekar as saying.

Bhumi also added, "I think people are noticing it more because my films have done well. I am that girl who takes time getting ready," reports IANS.

She also told IANS: "People don't expect it from me because of the kind of films I do. So, slowly and steadily they will understand that it is just a character I play."

Bhumi walked the ramp of IIJW on Sunday along with other actresses like Yami Gautam and Shamita Shetty.

Bhumi Pednekar, who was last seen in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana, also spoke about her upcoming film Chambal.

Of Chambal, Bhumi said, "I will start shooting for my next film in December or January. It is something very special. It is a very different and challenging film," reports IANS. The film will also feature Sushant Singh Rajput, reportedly.

The film will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey, whose Udta Punjab was a blockbuster hit.
