- Mr Bachchan, 70, makes his Hollywood debut in Moulin Rouge director Luhrmann's film adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's Jazz-era novel, set against the backdrop of high society in 1920s America and featuring the rich and mysterious Jay Gatsby as the central figure. Mr Bachchan plays the role of Meyer Wolfsheim, the shady business partner of Jay Gatsby, played by Hollywood heavyweight Leonardo Di Caprio. The film also stars Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.
