Ae Dil Hai Mushkil pays homage to the film Chandni
It shows Ranbir doing a take-off on father Rishi's song in the 1989 film
Rishi wrote on Twitter that he wants to do something similar on Ranbir
New Delhi: If you've seen Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, you've seen Ranbir Kapoor paying homage to a scene from father Rishi Kapoor's film Chandni. In the song Cutiepies, Anushka Sharma wears a yellow saree similar to the one Sridei wore in the Chandni song Mitwa. This is Ranbir Kapoor's second tribute piece for his father. Ranbir's 2008 film Bachna Ae Haseeno was named after a hit song featuring Rishi Kapoor from 1977's Hum Kisise Kum Naheen - a song that Ranbir reprised in his own film.

A few days ago, the elder Mr Kapoor had said that another upcoming film reminded him of Yash Chopra's classic romance. He called the Ranveer Singh-Vaani Kapoor film Befikre an updated adult version of Chandni after watching the trailer.

The Befikre team responded:

Meanwhile, Rishi Kapoor had better get cracking on that 'inch-pinch.'
