Saba Pataudi's penchant for photography is well known. Thanks to her, we often see images of her actor siblings, Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan and their families. And, when she is not busy clicking her loved ones at their candid best, Saba Pataudi finds images from the past to share on social media. The designer often shares throwback images of her parents, iconic actress Sharmila Tagore and cricket legend Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Latest on the list of such pictures is a treasured moment from the couple's wedding in 1969. Dressed in all their traditional glory, Sharmila Tagore looks gorgeous while Tiger Pataudi, as he is fondly called, is dapper as ever in the photo.
And given that Tiger Pataudi was the Nawab of Pataudi, it seems fitting that Saba titled the image, “The royal wedding,” Sharing details, Saba added, “Parents getting engaged to be married.” Sending social media users in splits, she said, “Wish I was there,” adding "Mahsha'Allah".
This is not the first image from the couple's wedding that Saba Pataudi, who is a jewellery designer, has shared on Instagram. Earlier this year, Saba posted another black and white image from the ceremony, in which Sharmila Tagore is seated with Mansoor Ali Khan standing behind her, and both of them are smiling. Sharing the picture, Saba wrote, “Two great people...Meant for each other. The best parents.”
Saba Pataudi's Instagram timeline has several photos of her parents. One such image that had the Internet going “aww” features Tiger Pataudi fixing Sharmila Tagore's necklace as she smiles coyly. All we can say is “couple goals.” Sharing the image, Saba wrote, “Dynamic duo. Mahsha'Allah…It's a gem.”
In another throwback image, the happy couple is seen in their stylish best, with the Nawab even wearing a shirt with tiger prints. “Tiger tiger...burning bright. And Tagore shines beside. Dashing duo. Mahsha'Allah. Never tire of such fabulous treasure…” Saba Pataudi wrote.
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi married Sharmila Tagore in 1969 and the couple welcomed their son, actor Saif Ali Khan, in 1970. While Saba Pataudi was born in 1976, actress-author Soha Ali Khan was born in 1978. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi died after battling a lung infection in 2011 at the age of 70. Sharmila Tagore was last seen in the 2010 film Break Ke Baad.
