Live : Kallakurichi Assembly Election 2021

Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi Lok Sabha constituency consists of Rishivandiyam, Sankarapuram, Kallakurichi, Gangavalli, Attur, Yercaud assembly seats among which except Rishivandiyam and Sankarapuram seats rest are reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category. For the Kallakurichi Lok Sabha seat voting will be on April 18, in the second phase of the general election 2019.

A total of 1528539 electorates have been registered in this constituency among which are 770478 are female voters. 179 of the total electorates are in the third gender category.

This time, 116040 more voters have registered. 

AIADMK party had won the Kallakurichi Lok Sabha seat in 2014. The party defeated DMK by a margin of 223507 vote. 

DMK has nominated Gautham Sigamani Pon as its MP candidate from Kallakurichi seat. 

Among key contenders are S. Sakthivel from Bahujan Samaj Party, LK Sudhish Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, H. Ganesh from Makkal Needhi Maiam, M. Chandramohan from Vivasayigal Makkal Munnetra Katchi and S. Sharfudeen from Naam Tamilar Katchi.

18 contenders are contesting as independent candidates.

In the 2014 election, 10901 votes were exercised under the NOTA option.
