BJP candidate for Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, Vinod Khanna flashes victory sign as he arrives at Amritsar airport
Actor-turned-politician and former MP Vinod Khanna today sought blessings from the almighty at Amritsar's Golden Temple for victory at the hustings.
After landing at Rajasansi airport at Amritsar, Mr Khanna, who is the BJP's candidate from the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat, visited the Golden Temple with local BJP leaders and senior Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) functionaries.
Later talking to media persons, Mr Khanna claimed that the sitting Congress MP from Gurdaspur Partap Singh Bajwa did nothing for the last five years of his tenure. Mr Khanna said the area had slipped back fifteen years and now it required at least ten years to streamline things.
Mr Khanna said that he was confident of getting the wholehearted support of the people in the area. He said he had met Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal who assured him all possible support.
